Lunch Dates

So I was pretty busy in June but July has been a slow month. But this week I have been mildly social :) On Tuesday I met up with a good friend who was going through the DFW area and had breakfast with her and her boyfriend. It was fun we sat and talked for a long time after eating. I love her boyfriend he is perfect for her, fun and seems like a great guy! I had to drive over to Arlington for that so afterward I went and used Jason's parent's pool :) His mom came and layed out with me and that was fun! She came out after 45 minutes and we stayed out there for 2 more hours! Pretty awesome!

Then yesterday I went to lunch with my roommate and hung out for a bit and today I am going to lunch with Ryan! I seriously haven't seen him in over a year at least and we live in the same stinkin' place!

The Burial

So, Ferdinand's burial was less than glamorous. We discussed making a grave stone and such but such grand gestures were soon forgotten. He layed in his watery grave for two days awaiting a proper burial that never came. We dumped him behind some bushed and covered him with rocks....may he rest in peace.

Oh Edinburugh.....

So a couple months ago I got a fish, he is a betta and his name is Edinburugh. He is a VERY good fish with a LOT of personality! I put off getting a fish for many years because my last fish, Gilbert, may he rest in peace, died in a tragic water changing accident. It scarred me and hardened my heart, but this year I was convinced to get another :). Some days...I slip up and call Edinburugh...Gilbert...but he forgives me and understands.
Anyway, I was at the pet store buying him fresh plants because he LOVES to lay on there leaves and hide behind them... and there before my eyes I saw the most beautiful snail in the world! His name...Ferdinand. I bought Ferdinand, brought him home and introduced him to his new friend...Edinburugh. Now Ed, as we sometimes call him, was curious swam around him on the ground and then went on about his business. Ferdinand loved his new home and climbed up and down plants and across all the rocks and then the trouble started....
.......he climbed the wall.

OH my did Edinburugh dislike this! All the sudden out of the corner of Ed's eye he saw Ferdinand, half way up the tanks wall and he FLIPPED! He charged poor Ferdinand and puffed up at him, snipped at his shell, then swam violently in circles....We figured Ed would get use to him and chill out. WELL, 3 hours later he was still flipping out...he would forget then the whole cycle would start ALL OVER again.

So, after much debate and research, me and Jason took Ferdinand out of the tank. You see, Betta's can die from stress and Ferdinand was causing A LOT of stress. So, I set up a mini tank for Ferdinand to chill in till I could buy a plant for him the next day. Sigh...apparently snails can't live a day without a plant (you know that whole oxygen thing)...so above you see the first and only picture of Ferdinand: you were a great snail with spunk, may you rest in peace slugger!

The pic isn't great cause I was trying to get the two of them together but Ed would not cooperate! Ferdinand is on the plant right below Ed!
